A Polarization Reconfigurable Slot Antenna on Glass Substrate
A polarization reconfigurable slot antenna on glass substrate is proposed. It mainly consists of a square slot, a tuning stub, a narrow branch, and a T-shaped stub. Firstly, the working principle of circular polarization is investigated. It is seen that by loading a narrow branch, the axial ratio characteristic is greatly improved. The T-shaped stub is added on the left side of the square slot to enhance the impedance matching and circular polarization performances. Then, in order to achieve the polarization reconfiguration functionality, the branches and T-shaped stubs are symmetrically loaded, and four diodes are inserted. In this way, the left-handed circularly polarized (LHCP) and right-handed circularly polarized (LHCP) radiation are switched. In RHCP and LHCP states, the −10dB impedance bandwidth covers from 2.1 GHz to 2.5 GHz, and the 3dB axial ratio bandwidth ranges from 2.31 GHz to 2.55 GHz.
