Design of S/X dual band dielectric loaded feed with monopulse tracking
This paper presents a design method for S/X dual band dielectric-loaded feed with monopulse tracking. The S-band difference signal is fed by coaxial probes, the X-band difference signal is fed by a TE21 mode coupler with multi-aperture. The S-band signals are transmitted and radiated through the horn, while the X-band signals are transmitted and radiated through a shaped dielectric rod loaded in the horn. Using analysis and optimization design methods to optimize the transmission and radiation performance of various frequency bands, the feed half irradiation angle is 53 °, the S-band reflection coefficient is better than -19.8dB, and the X-band reflection coefficient is better than -22.4dB. By feeding a 7.3m ring-focus antenna, the aperture efficiency of the antenna is better than 65% and the first sidelobe is better than -14dB.
