A High Gain Horn Antenna Array with Low Profile and High Backlobe Suppression

This article proposes and analyzes a high gain horn antenna array with low profile and high backlobe suppression. The microwave signal was feeded by a coax connecter, and then divided into two channels, then each signal was divided into 32 channels, then these 64 channels flow into radiation horn by vertical transition, and radiate into free space. By adding choke slots at the face of the antenna array, a low backlobe was obtained. The measured results indicate that in operating band, the vswr is less than 1.7, the gain is higher than 29.9 dB, and the backlobe level is less than $\mathbf{- 4 2 . 2 \text { dB }}$, and the height of the antenna is just $1.8 \lambda_{0}$.
