A novel Graphene Frequency Selective Surface with Switching Characteristic
In this paper, a novel graphene frequency selective surface (GFSS) composite structure is proposed, which is based on the electromagnetic tunability of graphene and the passive metal structure with special electromagnetic response. The proposed GFSS is composed of an aperture coupling resonator and a graphene structure, and the electrical coupling between the cross resonators on both sides of the aperture is dominant. The electromagnetic field distribution at the end of the upper and lower layer resonator is controlled by adjusting the chemical potential of graphene to realize the on or off state of the FSS passband. The simulated results indicate that the transmission and cutoff at the resonance frequency can be changed by adjusting the squared resistance of graphene. This study has certain value in expanding the FSS design and the application of graphene.
