A Tri-band Frequency Selective Surface with Angular Stability Based on Hexagonal Structure
A novel tri-band frequency selective surface (FSS) is introduced in paper, which can be applied to 5G mobile communication. The FSS is composed of three meander lines printed on single-layer hexagonal FR-4 dielectric substrate. Three stopband characteristics are observed in the frequency bands of 2.8GHz, 3.46GHz, and 4.11GHz. The three stopbands of the proposed FSS exhibit flexible and controllable characteristic. Compared to the previously published tri-band FSS, the proposed FSS exhibits certain size advantage. Furthermore, the novel FSS structure exhibits both polarization stability and angular stability in the range from 0 to 75 degrees.
