An Miniaturized Wideband Dual-Polarized Antenna for 5G System
This paper proposed a wideband dual-polarized antenna for 5G base station. The radiation patch consists of a full wave dipole and an interdigital coupling ring, which reduces the size of radiator effectively and improves the performance of radiation pattern. The antenna size is only $36.7 \mathrm{~mm} \times 36.7 \mathrm{~mm} x$ 16 mm. The simulation results show the reflection coefficient less than -10dB within $2.2-4.0 \mathrm{GHz}$ and the polarization isolation ($\left|\mathrm{S}_{21}\right|$) is better than -17 dB. In addition, $4 \times 4$ antenna array is designed, and each sub-array is fed by two identical 1-to-4 power dividers. Due to the good impedance matching of the power divider, the working band reaches $2-4.5 \mathrm{GHz}$, and the polarization isolation is less than - 20 dB. The HPBW (half-power beam width) of the H plane is between $80^{\circ} \pm 9^{\circ}$, indicating that It is suitable for 5 G Massive MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) application.
