A L-Band 2-Bit Reconfigurable Reflectarray Antenna Element

This work presents a 2-bit reconfigurable reflectarray antenna element operating at the L-band. The size of the element is $\mathbf{6 5 m m} \times 65 \mathrm{mm}$ and it uses 2 PIN diodes. 2-bit phase difference within $90^{\circ} \pm 25^{\circ}$ and reflection loss lower than 0.6dB are reached from 1.801GHz to 1.829GHz. A $14 \times 14$ reconfigurable reflectarray is fabricated and simulated using the element. Simulation results indicate that this reconfigurable reflectarray element possesses excellent reflection capabilities.
