High-Precision Digital Predistortion for Millimeter-Wave GaN Power Amplifiers Excited by a 4096-QAM Signal
This article presents a novel method for high-precision digital pre-distortion (DPD) of power amplifiers (PAs) excited by a signal with 4096-QAM. To meet the demodulation requirements of 4096-QAM signals, proposed method combines the iterative learning control (ILC) technique and a hybrid model of cascaded and parallel structures. The cascaded part is used to compensate the nonlinearity of the PAs, and the parallel part is used to fit the residuals. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model effectively compensates for the distortion of a 28 GHz GaN PA excited by a 4096-QAM signal with bandwidth of 160 MHz.
