Broadband dual polarization microstrip array suitable for Ku -band satellite communication
In this letter, a wideband wide-beam dual-linear polarized microstrip antenna is designed by using the form of multi-layer patch stack. The impedance bandwidth of the antenna is $12.1 \mathrm{GHz} \sim 12.85 \mathrm{GHz}$ for $\left|S_{11}\right|\lt-15 \mathrm{dB}$, and the isolation is greater than 25 dB in the same band. The operating band covers the downlink band of $K u$-band communication satellites ($\mathbf{1 2. 2 5} \mathbf{ G H z} \sim 12.75 \mathrm{GHz}$). Secondly, the antenna is used to form an $8 \times 8$ array. The simulated results show that the maximum scanning angle of the array reaches ± 60°, and when the scanning angle is ± 70°, the maximum gain of the array decreases by about 6dB.
