Multilayer Semi-Elliptical Shaped Conformal Patch Antennas Using Stacked Polyimide Films
Simple, lightweight, and multilayer conformal stacked patch antennas (MCSPAs) are presented. The antennas use copper-clad polyimide (CCPM) and transparent fluorinated ethylene propylene (T-FEP) films to improve the bandwidth (BW) and flexibility. Two antennas are designed and measured, which provide a 10 dB return loss BW of $11.5 \%$ and $19.8 \%$. Both antennas are measured for the flat case and conformed to cylinders with radius of $200,160,150,100,80$, and 40 mm.
