Wideband Fabry–Perot Resonator Antenna With Double-Layer Partially Reflective Surface

In this paper, we have designed a broadband compact Fabry-Perot Resonator (FPRA) with a double-layered partially reflective surface (FPRA).Wideband FPRA uses a PRS with regular hexagonal elements, which can make the reflective surface of this part more tightly arranged, so that the size of the FPRA is significantly reduced. At the same time, by introducing regular hexagons to be periodically arranged in the two-dimensional plane, each regular hexagon element is adjacent to six identical regular hexagonal elements, which greatly increases the coupling effect between the elements. The FPRA with size $\left(2.1| \lambda_{0} \times 2.1| \lambda_{0} \times 0.57 \lambda_{0}\right)$ has a gain bandwidth of 3 dB above 8.1-11.1 GHz, relative to 31.2%, and a peak gain of 12dBi.
