Sparse Array Synthesis of Phased Array Radar Using ADMM Algorithm
A sparse array synthesis algorithm for phased array scanning radar using reweighted $L 1$-norm minimization approach is proposed in this paper. The algorithm aims to ensure the beampattern is formed by the minimum number of antenna elements while satisfying both the main lobe shape and the side lobe level constraints during multi-angle scanning. The original non-convex problem is firstly relaxed by reweighted L1norm minimization. Then, the formulated problem is solved in the framework of alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM), where auxiliary variables are introduced to iteratively derive the closed-form solutions. Simulation examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
