Design of A novel Dual-band High-gain Shared-Aperture Bidirectional Fabry-Perot Antenna

In this paper, we proposed a dual-band high-gain shared-aperture bidirectional (Bi) Fabry-Perot (FP) antenna based on the upper and lower layers of partially reflective surfaces (PRS). The PRS unit has a reflection amplitude of nearly 0.9 and a reflection phase of 180° at 6.6 and 12.8 GHz. A dual-band single-port patch antenna is designed as the feed. The electromagnetic wave leaking from the upper and lower PRS achieves superposition to obtain Bi high-gain radiation. The bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 6.4-6.75 and 12.5-13 GHz respectively. The peak gain is 13 and 14.4 dBi at Theta=0 and 180°. The dimension of FP is $(2.2 \times 2.2 \times 0.55) \lambda^{3}(\lambda$ is the wavelength at the 6.6 GHz). The proposed antenna has great application prospects in C- and Ku-band relay communication.
