A Novel Multi-mode Excited Broadband Circularly-Polarized Metasurface Antenna
In this work, a wideband multi-mode circularly-polarized (CP) antenna by using a novel hybrid polarization-rotated metasurface (PRMS) structure is proposed. The hybrid PRMS is composed of two different corner-cut PRMS unit cells to generate multiple CP modes. Furtherly, by combining the hybrid PRMS with a CP Z-shaped coupling slot, these multiple CP modes generated by PRMS can be inspired. Together with the slot-mode, a large axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) about $43.4 \%(6.06 \sim 9.57 \mathrm{GHz})$ can be realized within an overall size $\lambda_{0} \times \lambda_{0} \times 0.11 \lambda_{0}$.
