A Hybrid OMP-Broyden Algorithm for Thinning Antenna Array
Based on orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) and Broyden method, a hybrid optimization algorithm is proposed for thinning antenna arrays. The OMP algorithm can select the appropriate array elements for thinned arrays, and the Broyden quasi-Newton method can minimize sidelobe levels (SLL) by optimizing the excitation amplitudes of elements. Hence, the hybrid algorithm can high efficiently achieve a thinned antenna array, which has low SLL and a specified mainlobe width. A uniform planar array is provided to validate the proposed algorithm.
