Flood Disaster Emergency Monitoring Based on Multi-temporal Lutan-1 SAR Data
Since April 2024, heavy rainfall has continued in many places in southern China, with the daily rainfall of 11 national meteorological observation stations in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou and Yunnan exceeding the maximum value in June. Floods and geological disasters occurred in Guangdong and Fujian. For the flood disaster area, the emergency observations are carried out by using optical and SAR satellites. Due to the rainy and cloudy weather, SAR data play a significant effect for flood disaster emergency monitoring. Multitemporal Lutan-1 SAR data was applied for flood area extraction. In order to restrict the influence of SAR overlay and shadow induced by radar side-looking mechanism and relief of terrain, the external DEM was integrated for flood area extraction. The reliable results were obtained based on the multi-temporal Lutan1 SAR data and accurate DEM data, which is significant for flood emergency response and relief.
