A High-Gain Low-Profile Polarization-Reconfigurable Square Patch Antenna for SWIPT
This paper proposes a high-gain low-profile polarization-reconfigurable square patch antenna for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT). The antenna employs a slot-loading patch as the radiation patch to achieve high-gain performance. An RF switch along with an inverter and feeding network is integrated to alter the polarization of the proposed antenna. By controlling the RF switch, the proposed antenna can switch between vertical polarization (VP) and horizontal polarization (HP) simply. The measured -10 dB impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna spans from 5730 to 5830 MHz for VP and from 5710 to 5810 MHz for HP. The measured maximum gain is 12.55 dBi and 12.54 dBi, respectively. The measured co-polarization results of the proposed antenna closely match the simulated data, with a front-to-back ratio exceeding 27 dB.
