Effect of Tunnel Entrance and Side Slopes on Radio Wave Coverage Characteristics along the Railway

The complex scenarios along the railway affect radio wave coverage, and stable radio waves have a significant impact on public mobile communication. In this paper, the scenario contains free space and tunnel is investigated, especially when there are side slopes in the free space. The full wave simulation method is used to model complex environment. The influence of single-sided slope, double-sided slope, and slope inclination angle on the wireless coverage of the research scenario in this paper is analyzed. The results show that the side slope in the open space can not only prevent the falling of mountain debris, but also improve the radio wave coverage characteristics in the area containing tunnel entrance.
