Wideband dual-polarization antennas for mobile communications
In this letter, a broadband dual-polarization dipole antenna is proposed. The main radiator of the antenna consists of two pairs of arc-shaped common dipoles, placed on the upper and lower layers of the dielectric board, connected through metal through-holes and the utilization of the shared dipoles results in a compact structure of the antenna. The coplanar stripline is fed through the balun to achieve ± 45° polarization over a wide frequency band. A parasitic circular patch is added above the antenna to improve the impedance matching of the antenna, and an arc dipole is used to increase the gain of the antenna. The final antenna size is $45 \mathrm{~mm} * \mathbf{4 5 m m} * 22.5 \mathrm{~mm}$. The simulation results show that when the in-band return loss is less than -10 dB, the impedance bandwidth of the antenna is $45 \%(2.4 \mathrm{GHz}-3.8 \mathrm{GHz})$, and the gain is greater than 8 dBi.
