A X band Wideband Wide angle Scanning Array Antenna

This communication presents a design of a tightly coupled array antenna for wide-angle scanning in the X-band, which is capable of achieving large-angle scanning. The array antenna is composed of $8 \times 16$ elements arranged in a triangular grid, with an element spacing of $20 \mathrm{~mm} \times 11.5 \mathrm{~mm}$. The measured results indicate that this antenna is able to achieve VSWR of less than 2 across the frequency range of $6.27-12.7 \mathrm{GHz}$ without scanning, and less than 3 within ± 45° range in the E-plane at 6.27-13 GHz
