A Magnetoelectric Dipole Filtenna for 45 GHz Millimeter-Wave WiFi Applications
A low-profile magnetoelectric dipole antenna with filtering characteristics tailored for the 45 GHz millimeterwave (mmWave) WiFi band is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of four metallic patches forming two pairs of electric dipoles, combinedwith metalized vias acting as magnetic dipoles. The feeding structure incorporates a center patch coupled to the dipoles through an open-ended stub. By engineering the feed structure and radiating elements, two radiation nulls are introduced in the out-of-band regions, resulting in enhanced frequency selectivity. The proposed antenna achieves a center frequency of 47 GHz with a bandwidth of approximately 12 GHz. The compact form factor, ease of fabrication, and performance well-aligned with the 802.11aj requirements make this antennaa promising candidate for future mmWave WiFi applications
