An AR-Based Indoor Navigation System with Improved Accessibility
Universities, malls, and hospitals are really a hard place to navigate around if one is visually or hearing impaired. The paper addresses developing an Augmented Reality Based indoor navigation system aimed to make wayfinding easier and efficient. It's implemented using Vuforia and Unity and has the functionality of voice assistant, so as to make the way-finding experience much easier for the visually impaired user. It also uses the A* algorithm for optimal pathfinding thereby ensuring real-time directions to users to navigate through complex environments easily. The application is also capable of diverse environments like universities and other public spaces.
