A Broadband Metasurface Antenna for Millimeter-Wave Application
A broadband metasurface antenna fed by a slot coupling through a substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed. To achieve the broadband impedance matching, the metasurface is composed of sub-wavelength nonuniform circular patch array. After adding a transition from coplanar waveguide (CPW) to SIW, the final proposed metasurface antenna achieves a wide simulated bandwidth of $87 \%$ (18.8-48 GHz). The overall height of the proposed metasurface antenna is $0.22 \lambda_{0}$. This broadband metasurface antenna with low profile is suitable for wideband and multiband millimeter-wave applications.
