Composite Ku/Ka Wide-Band Dielectric Resonator Antenna Elements with Shared Aperture

This paper proposed a novel scheme to realize the Ku/Ka wide-band shared aperture antennas with different dielectric resonators. Both of the two bands antenna radiate into free space via the same physical aperture. The simulation results of the proposed antennas prove that, the composite dielectric resonator antenna elements can obtain a relative bandwidth of 51.4% of Ku-band and a relative bandwidth of 24.3% of Ka-band, respectively.

Abstract

This paper proposed a novel scheme to realize the Ku/Ka wide-band shared aperture antennas with different dielectric resonators. Both of the two bands antenna radiate into free space via the same physical aperture. The simulation results of the proposed antennas prove that, the composite dielectric resonator antenna elements can obtain a relative bandwidth of 51.4% of Ku-band and a relative bandwidth of 24.3% of Ka-band, respectively.
