A Range-Compressed Forward-Looking Radar Imaging Method Based on Attribute Scattering Model
Radar forward-looking imaging has been a longstanding challenge in radar detection. The wavefront-modulating imaging technique provides improved information that helps resolve targets within the main lobe of the radiation beam, making it suitable for forward-looking imaging applications. However, conventional wavefront-modulating methods based on the attribute scattering model (ASM) encounter considerable difficulties in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environments. In this paper, we introduce a range-compressed forward-looking imaging approach based on ASM, utilizing random-phase-hopping modulation for the transmitted signals and applying fast Fourier transform (FFT) to the received signals. Simulated experiments are conducted to illustrate the effectiveness of this proposed method.
