A Circularly Polarized Antenna With wide Bandwidth for Millimeter-Wave Applications

This paper proposes a circularly polarized antenna with wide bandwidth and high gain in the millimeter wave band. The antenna achieves left-hand circular polarization (LHCP) characteristics through slot-coupled feeding, utilizing centrally symmetrical patches and metal posts. The proposed antenna was fabricated and measured. The results show that the antenna achieves a-10 dB impedance bandwidth of $\mathbf{1 7 \%}$ from 24.9 to 29.5 $\mathbf{G H z}$ and a 3 dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of $\mathbf{2 2. 2 \%}$ from 24 to 30 GHz. The maximum realized gain within the frequency band is $\mathbf{1 6. 4} \mathbf{~ d B i c}$ and the gain is stable with a variation in $\mathbf{2 d B}$ which have a stable radiation performance.
