A Microwave Sensor for Detection of Heavy Metals in Traditional Chinese Medicine
This paper presents a microwave sensor for the detection of heavy metals in traditional Chinese medicine decoctions. The sensor is composed of interdigital capacitors (IDC), a split-ring resonators (SRR) coupled with a microstrip line on the substrate, and a test substance placed above the sensor. By altering the dielectric constant of the liquid, the sensor demonstrates a frequency shift, enabling the detection of heavy metal content. This design offers a high-sensitivity, non-invasive detection method suitable for real-time monitoring of heavy metals in traditional Chinese medicine decoctions.
