Error Analysis of Beam-width Method for Gain Measurement of large-aperture antenna

This paper analyzes the error for measurement of antenna gain based on beam-width method (BWM). Firstly, the basic theory of BWM is introduced. Then, errors of BWM are analyzed: the error range of BWM within 0.31 dB when the influence of the aperture field distribution is considered. Finally, some suggestions were proposed to minimize errors. The novelty of this paper mainly lies in the analysis of the influence of antenna aperture electric field distribution on the measurement of antenna gain.
