Robust Low-Sidelobe Beamforming Method via Alternating Projection Technique
The design of the array antenna is accurate in theory, but in practical engineering applications, the amplitude and phase errors of the array element excitations are inevitable, which will affect the performance of the array. In this paper, a robust low sidelobe beam synthesis method based on the alternating projection is proposed, which takes the amplitude and phase errors of excitations into consideration. The upper bound pattern considering amplitude and phase perturbation is taken as the optimization objective, and then the synthesized result is able to meet the optimization requirements even in the worst case. Numerical example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
