Metagratings for Bidirectional Electromagnetic Absorption
Metagratings have emerged as a promising platform for electromagnetic absorption due to their sparse and straightforward structure, as well as the availability of clear analytical models that facilitate design. In this study, we propose a electromagnetic absorber design based on a transmissive metagrating. By theoretically analyzing and systematically arranging two meta-atoms with identical specific load impedances on the upper and lower layers of the metagrating, efficient symmetric wave absorption responses are achieved. The design methodology is validated through full-wave simulations performed at 10 GHz, demonstrating strong consistency with theoretical predictions.
