On Streamline Measurements Using Transmitarray based Compact Antenna Test Range
Due to the rapid development of the communication industry, streamline measurement has become increasingly important in over-the-air testing. Conventional measuring methods are unsuitable for the compact, effective, and quick diagnosis of mass equipment because of space and structural limitations. This paper introduces a transmitarray compact antenna test range (CATR) design with a small focal-to-diameter ratio and a large aperture ratio for streamline measurement. The collimator of the proposed CATR consists of two metasurfaces that can independently modify the magnitude and phase of the incident wave. Additionally, based on the transmitarray CATR system, a diagnosis approach for determining peak beam deviation in production line measurement is described, along with its optimization methodology. Experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the system. The proposed CATR system and corresponding testing methods are low-cost and time-efficient.
