Ultra-Wideband Monopole Antenna with DGS and Offset Feed
This paper introduces a novel ultra-wideband (UWB) circular monopole antenna that utilizes offset feeding technique and incorporates a distinctive defective ground structure (DGS). By adjusting the feed position on the circular patch, the antenna’s directivity is enhanced. Furthermore, the DGS consisting of rectangular and circular patterns effectively broadens the operational bandwidth of the antenna. Simulation results indicate that the antenna operates within a wide frequency range of 3.6 GHz to 15 GHz and achieves a peak gain of 10.3 dB at 11 GHz. These results suggest that the proposed antenna is suitable for ultra-wideband communication systems.
