A Terahertz Monopulse Antenna Based on Beam Waveguide for Long Distance Communication
High-speed long-distance wireless communication has always played an important role in applications. In this paper, we introduce a terahertz monopulse tracking antenna, which is very suitable for satellite communication. Beam waveguide (BWG) technology has been applied in the antenna to avoid the movement of RF transceivers during aiming and tracking, while reducing the loads on both axes to improve the dynamic performance of the mechanism. Simulation results show that the antenna gain is more than 58 dBi from 215 GHz to 225 GHz and its far-field beams exhibit strong symmetry with null depth better than $\mathbf{- 3 1} \mathbf{d B}$ on both azimuth and elevation planes at 216 GHz.
