A Broadband Sleeve Monopole Antenna with Substrate-Integrated Coaxial Line Technology

This paper proposes a planar broadband sleeve monopole antenna by using the substrate-integrated coaxial line technology (SICL). By selectively eliminating sections of the metal outer conductor and metallic vias of SICL, the exposed inner conductor is transformed into the radiation structure of monopole. The stepped-width design of the radiation element and the metal sleeve structure are employed to achieve antenna miniaturization and broadband design. The simulation results demonstrate that the monopole antenna exhibits a symmetrical radiation pattern, with a -10 dB bandwidth ranging from 0.88 to 3.89 GHz, and achieves a peak gain of 4.3 dBi at 3.8 GHz.
