Dual-Band Low-Profile Frequency Selective Surface Based on Hybrid Electromagnetic Coupling and Hybrid Resonant Structure
In this paper, a low-profile dual-band frequency selective surface (FSS) consisting of aperture-coupled dual-mode patch resonators (AC-DMPRs) is proposed and operates with hybrid electromagnetic coupling (HEMC) mechanism. Compared with the traditional dual-band FSS, the AC-DMPRs can be excited by electric and magnetic couplings, and both coupling ways can be used to manipulate the resonant frequencies, therefore it’s more flexible to realize higher-order broadband bandpass response. To analyze the mechanism in detail, according to the filter theory, the equivalent circuit model (ECM) is presented. A good agreement between the fullwave and ECM simulation results is achieved, revealing the attractive dual-band, low-profile and wideband features of the proposed FSS, and the performance remains stable over the range of incidence angles from 0-50∘
