Integrated broadband millimeter-wave printed magneto-electric dipole antenna array design
A printed magneto-electric dipole antenna array for millimeter-wave band applications is proposed, which consists of a magnetic dipole vertically shorted to a patch antenna and a planar electric dipole, and the bandwidth of this antenna unit is broadened by using a coupled-feeding method. To achieve high gain, integration, and low SLL, a $1 \times 8$ linear array antenna is designed using a wide-band unequal series-fed network, which achieves 30% impedance bandwidth (20.2 GHz to 27.4 GHz), $\mathrm{1 5 . 9 5} \mathrm{~ d B i}$ gain and a SLL of $-24.35 \mathrm{~dB}(24 \mathrm{GHz})$. The proposed antenna array has the advantages of wide bandwidth, low SLL, small size, easy integration, easy fabrication, low cost, etc. It can be widely used in 24 GHz short-range vehicle-mounted radar.
