Gain-Enhanced Dipole Array Based on Non-Uniform Compressed High-Order Mode Dipoles for Base Stations
A high-gain dipole array for radio broadcasting base stations is proposed in this paper. This array consists of four linearly placed non-uniform compressed high-order mode dipoles and a metal reflector. The antenna element has a gain of 9.5 dBi which covers the radio broadcasting band (703-733 MHz), the proposed array has a gain of 18.6 dBi in this band. The investigation shows that compared with the traditional basic-mode dipole array, the proposed array achieves a similar gain with a 50% reduction in the number of array elements and a 17.7% reduction in the array size.
