Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the organizational practices of the Instituto Municipal Nise da Silveira [IMNS] through Weick's model (Weick, Gilfillan & Keith, 1973), focusing on the process of asylum construction and deconstruction, with the intent of understanding its daily practices in the development of the "Bloco de Carnaval Loucura Suburbana". Theoretical Framework: This section presents the main concepts and theories that support the research. We highlight Weick's model (Weick, Gilfillan & Keith, 1973) as the analytical basis for organizing and sensemaking in this case study. Method: The methodology employed in this research consists of an action-research approach, qualitative in nature, and constructivist-interpretive. Data collection was carried out through interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Results and Discussion: The findings revealed how the organizational practices of the group have fostered the deconstruction of the asylum model at the IMNS. In the discussion section, these results are contextualized in light of the theoretical framework, highlighting the identified implications and relationships. Research Implications: The practical and theoretical implications of this research are discussed, providing insights into how the findings can be applied to the field of research on organizing and organizational practices, thereby enriching organizational studies. Originality/Value: This study offers practical contributions to the reformulation of the management and fundraising model of the "Bloco Loucura Suburbana", an asylum deconstruction device at the Instituto Municipal Nise da Silveira, expanding the literature on organizational studies from the perspective of mental health institutions.
