Dual functionalized flower-like MoS2 nanospheres with Pd and g-C3N4 for triethylamine gas sensing performance
Triethylamine, a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent taste, is highly toxic. Here, we prepared the flower-like Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 nanosphere with BET surface area of 31.568 m 2 /g by hydrothermal method to detect triethylamine. The prepared Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 composite presents high gas response (9.85), fast response/recovery times (38 s/26 s) to 30 ppm TEA at 225 ℃. Furthermore, the Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 also has good selectivity , stability and humidity resistance for detecting TEA. The significantly improved gas sensing performance of the Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 composite can be due to the spillover effect and S vacancies by doping Pd, the n-n heterojunctions and large surface area by combining g-C 3 N 4 . We have fabricated the Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 composite successfully. The Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 gas sensor shows superior gas-sensing performance toward triethylamine • The Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 are synthesized by hydrothermal method . • The Pd-MoS 2 /g-C 3 N 4 possess larger response than Pd-MoS 2 and MoS 2 to TEA. • Adding Pd into MoS 2 induces the S vacancies and spillover effect. • Combing MoS 2 with g-C 3 N 4 can form heterojunctions and increase BET area.
