Misconception uses of Herbal in Iraq

This study assesses the knowledge and practices of Iraqi herbalists regarding commonly used herbs, including chamomile, cinnamon and senna, to promote public safety and awareness. Misconceptions about herbal science are very important to educate people about the seriousness of side effects resulting from the incorrect and repeated use of these herbs, as they are no less dangerous than synthetic chemical drugs. In this study, many herbalists in Baghdad were questioned and statistics were conducted on the methods of use and the quantities used. This study emphasizes the need for awareness programs and cultural systems to raise the level and safety of herbal medicine use in Iraq.
