Strategic Rare Earth Resource Discovery Method Based on GIS Data Analysis
Most of the rare earth resources are located in remote mountainous areas with high mountains, dense forests, scattered mining areas and many mining sites, which leads to the difficulty in the discovery of rare earth resources. In this paper, we proposed a rare earth resource discovery method based on fractal texture-assisted classification method using remote sensing images of rare earth mining areas as data sources, and constructed two fractal window and waveband selection models. The experimental results show that the appropriate fractal window and fractal band selection have a significant effect on the improvement of classification accuracy. The method is capable of quantitatively determining the optimal fractal window and fractal waveband, and has better rare earth resource discovery capability in complex geomorphic backgrounds.
