CAGE-FREE - PRODUÇÃO DE OVOS GALINHAS LIVRES
The aim of this study was to assess consumer awareness of the importance of animal welfare in egg production in Brazil. A survey was conducted with 50 egg consumers in Brazil. Participants answered a questionnaire about their attitudes and perceptions regarding animal welfare in egg production. The results of this study show that consumer awareness of animal welfare in egg production is increasing in Brazil. This suggests that the demand for eggs produced in cage-free systems may increase in the future. Cage-free systems are a more ethical and sustainable alternative for egg production. Increasing consumer awareness of animal welfare should lead to an increase in the demand for eggs produced in this system.
