Investigation of the Impact of Sintering Temperature on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of FeCoMo Tool Steel
Abstract An experimental investigation has been conducted to ascertain the influence of sintering temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of FeCoMo tool steels. The findings reveal that elevated sintering temperatures accelerate the growth and induce an uneven distribution of the μ phase. This phenomenon adversely affects the three-point bending strength, causing a reduction, and simultaneously increasing hardness. Notably, the data highlights 1, 170°C as the optimal sintering temperature for preserving microstructural uniformity, correlating with a hardness of 534 HV and an impressive three-point bending strength of 1, 354 MPa.
