Structural design and analysis of underwater survival capsule for pumped-storage power station
Abstract Pumped-storage, as a leading large-scale energy storage technology, has been widely adopted in power systems. The underground powerhouse area of such stations may experience flooding incidents due to equipment failures and geographic factors, leading to significant casualties and property losses. The survival capsule serves as a reliable escape facility, showing excellent performance in coal mine rescue operations. This paper presents a design for an underwater survival capsule system aimed at addressing flooding incidents in hydropower stations. The design ensures the capsule’s structural integrity with reliable waterproof and pressure-resistant properties, also providing a stable and comfortable internal environment for those evacuees.
