Weibull distribution analysis of fracture toughness of ductile cast iron for large-scale spent nuclear fuel transportation containments
Abstract The fracture toughness of ductile cast iron for large-scale spent nuclear fuel transportation containments was investigated and statistically analyzed by the methodology of Weibull distribution. The fracture toughness data of specimens at different locations (top and nesting parts) were obtained by conducting fracture toughness tests. The two-parameter Weibull distribution was utilized for statistical analysis to verify the applicability of the method for the fracture toughness of the specific domestic material, and also to determine the satisfaction of the requirement for the fracture toughness of the vessels with a large cross-section in ultimate low temperature conditions.
