Study on the stiffness and damping characteristics of a Single-Chamber Hydro-pneumatic suspension without Hydro-pneumatic separation
Abstract Hydro-pneumatic suspension can withstand large loads and impacts, significantly enhancing ride comfort. It is predominantly used in heavy-duty trucks, construction vehicles, and other types of vehicles that operate in complex and varied terrains. Based on the structural characteristics of the single-chamber hydro-pneumatic suspension without separation, a mechanical model is established to analyze the stiffness and damping characteristics of the suspension system. The effects of different initial pressures and volumes of nitrogen on stiffness, as well as the influence of the size of the damping hole on damping characteristics, are separately calculated. Finally, the simulation software Amesim is utilized to verify the calculation results, revealing that the stiffness characteristics and damping characteristics of suspension exhibit significant nonlinear features, and the system meets the requirements for vibration reduction, providing a valuable reference for the structural design of the suspension.
