Optimization on welding layout of scroll compressor shell based on vibration noise
Abstract One of the key indicators for assessing scroll compressor quality is noise, primarily attributed to vibration noise. In addressing the significant influence of welding layout on the vibration noise of scroll compressor shells, this study employed vibration mode analysis to determine the optimal welding seam position. A combination of simulation analysis and noise experiments was then utilized to investigate the effect of this position on vibration noise. By establishing a dynamic model of the compressor and analyzing the time-domain characteristics of the excitation force, the loading conditions for the finite element model were derived. Furthermore, the frequency-domain characteristics of the shell’s vibration acceleration were examined, revealing the interaction between acceleration and the layout of the weld seams. These findings were validated through noise experiments. The study concluded that avoiding welding seams near structural openings significantly reduces vibration acceleration, reducing both vibration and noise. This approach offers a solution for enhancing the noise quality of scroll compressors.
