Closed-loop pulse shaping with <1ps resolution over >2ns records using STILETTO combined with Three Phase Spectral Interferometry (3PSI)
The ability to arbitrarily shape pulses in both intensity and wavelength vs. time with fine resolution over long records offers new capability for experiments involving laser interactions with matter. We demonstrate a novel optical recorder (3PSI) that is capable of recording optical amplitude and phase over >2ns records with <1ps resolution in a single shot.Three spectral interferograms are simultaneously recorded using three high resolution VIPA spectrometers.By avoiding approximations in the phase retrieval, waveforms can be measured with high fidelity. We applied 3PSI to our previously demonstrated STILETTO wavelength and amplitude optical pulse shaper to precisely closed-loop shape optical pulses in amplitude and apply arbitrary wavelength vs time patterns.
