High Step‐Up Interleaved DC‐DC Converter With Fault‐Tolerant Capability

ABSTRACT The primary characteristics of a DC‐DC converter designed for critical load applications include the assurance of reconfigurable capability, high voltage gain, reduced input current ripple, and minimum voltage stress across power switches. Therefore, in this paper, a high step‐up interleaved DC‐DC converter with fault‐tolerant capability is presented. The proposed converter is reconfigured without additional components during faults. Additionally, it provides low input current ripple, high voltage gain with reduced component count, lower voltage stress, higher efficiency, and uniform current sharing among inductors and switches during normal and fault conditions without any modification to the controller. A 200 W prototype converter was designed, fabricated, and tested to verify the feasibility of the proposed control strategy, and results are presented to highlight its merits.
