Possible complications of scleroplasty in progressive myopia in children
The article describes complications after scleroplasty in progressive myopia in children: tenonitis, sclerotenonitis, myositis of the rectus muscle, ischemic oculopathy, dislocation of the implants. A histological description of the implants extracted from the tenon space is given. The insufficient effectiveness of scleroplasty and the potential risk of complications of surgery force ophthalmologists to turn to alternative methods of treating progressive myopia. Kewords: myopia, scleroplasty, tenonitis, sclerotenonitis, ischemic oculopathy
